About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong architectural thinking and hands-on experience across the full stack. You will join a potential long-term project for a large European company, where you will take part in designing and building scalable, reliable solutions end-to-end, from the user interface to the infrastructure.
This role suits an engineer who is comfortable moving between frontend, backend, and DevOps, and who can step back to see the bigger picture when making technical decisions.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement software architecture for complex, scalable solutions
- Develop and maintain frontend and backend components
- Contribute to infrastructure and DevOps work, including CI/CD, deployment, and environment setup
- Make and document technical decisions, weighing trade-offs and long-term impact
- Apply AI tools and approaches, including RAG-based solutions, to improve both the product and the development process
- Ensure code quality through code reviews, testing, and engineering best practices
- Work independently and collaborate closely with the team and the client’s stakeholders
- Explore and introduce new technologies where they add real value
Requirements
- 7+ years of commercial software engineering experience
- Strong abstract and architectural thinking, with the ability to design solutions at a system level
- Solid experience across frontend, backend, and infrastructure/DevOps engineering
- Hands-on experience with TypeScript, Node.js, and React (ideal)
- 3 years of experience developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture
- 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms
- Experience with containerization and orchestration frameworks (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker)
- Deep understanding of and practical experience with AI tools, including RAG and related approaches
- Openness to learning new technologies and adapting quickly
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and drive tasks to completion
- English at B2-C1 level for daily communication with the team and the client
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field
- Experience in a technical leadership role
- Experience in systems programming using C++ or Go
